The Flemish government and the social partners have agreed that, among others, the staff of Flemish residential care centers, psychiatric care homes and rehabilitation centers will receive on average 6 percent extra purchasing power. In this way they keep up with the hospital staff, who previously received an extra 6 percent.
For home care, youth care and childcare, an average of 4.5 percent is added. And for employees of custom-made companies and the socio-cultural sector, purchasing power will increase by 1.1 percent in the coming years.
All these wage increases, in all about 180,000 employees, will take effect from January 1. That is 6 months earlier than originally planned.
