Swiss consumers will discover from the end of June the first invoices adopting the QR code, intended to facilitate online traffic in particular.
The QR-bill will gradually replace the traditional payment slips, said the operator of the SIX payment infrastructure in a press release on Tuesday.
The recipients of these invoices can easily scan the code to settle them by e-banking or mobile banking. However, they will also retain the possibility of fulfilling their due at the post office counter, ATMs or even sending the payment order in an envelope to their bank.
