The first fat model in the world

Virginie Grossat, 32, challenges the stereotypical image of fashion and models on social media platforms by storming the field despite her size not matching the criteria of “slim figure”.

“I am fat, and there is no shame in that … Fashion is an attitude, not a measure,” says Grosat, who lives in Lyon, France. With her bold images and liberal speech, the French model captures the hearts of tens of thousands of social media users through her personal accounts.

“I really love showing my femininity,” Grosat adds, wearing colorful and tight clothes and taking photo sessions to be published later on Instagram, which has more than 24,000 subscribers, in addition to making videos on TikTok, which is followed by about 280,000 people.

Grosat expresses her self-acceptance sarcastically on Instagram by saying, “… I’m clumsy, I have bigger buttocks than Nicki (Minaj) and Kim (Kardashian) combined, I have scary eyes, so my thighs rub against each other …”

Ferigina, a size 54, looks out over her followers with distinctive looks and clothes that she chooses carefully and provocatively for the world of fashion and fashions that is “not exclusive” to girls with slim and small and medium sizes only according to Grosat.

Regarding her coping with her excess weight, Grossat stated that “obesity … everyone suffers from it differently.” There are people of the same height and size but they are sick, we are all different. ”

Despite her cheerful nature, she “pretends” the seriousness of her pictures and says, “What I really recommend is boldness… wear things that make you feel comfortable and glamorous! But don’t smile. ”

“We often see nice plump women, but the (graceful) girls on the catwalks look serious, sometimes arrogant. I don’t see why I can’t look like this, I try to embody fashion,” she added.

Virginie is inspired by her work as a “fashion influencer” on social media platforms from two French bloggers active in the same field, Stephanie Zwicky or Gayle Prudencio, who have championed the inclusiveness of untold fashions of others due to their size over the past fifteen years.
