The first day of’No more than 5 people’… 6 minors caught in the apartment

Gangnam neighbors report “noisy”
Drunken riot after police box arrest

On the 23rd, the first day when an order to “ban private gatherings with more than 5 people” was issued in the metropolitan area, six minors gathered together to drink alcohol in an apartment in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and were caught by the police. This is the first case that was caught after the executive order was implemented.

The Seoul Gangnam Police Station announced on the 24th, “We detected six 17-year-old teenagers who had gathered at an apartment in Nonhyeon-dong and drinking alcohol around 7 pm on the 23rd and informed Gangnam-gu of the violation of special quarantine measures.”

According to the police, among the juveniles who violated the measures, Army A was taken to a nearby police box and charged with breaking the lock on the door of the police box (damage to a public building) while engaging in a riot with the mask down. Army A, who was drunk at the time, said that when the police pointed out, “Wear a mask properly,” he shouted “I’m going outside.”

On the same day, the police were reported to the residents of the same apartment, saying that there was a’noisy sound’, and they were dispatched to the house where Army A and others were gathered to detect the scene of violating the administrative order. It is known that group A and others bought alcohol and drank inside the house while their parents were away from the house while deceiving their age at a nearby convenience store. The police are investigating a convenience store owner who sold alcohol to them for violating the Youth Protection Act. An official in Gangnam-gu said, “We are also considering a plan to accuse the group of A, etc., to the police for violating the Infectious Disease Prevention Act after an order was issued to prohibit private meetings with more than 5 people.” Three municipalities in the metropolitan area, including Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Incheon, issued an administrative order prohibiting private gatherings of five or more people from 0 o’clock on the 23rd to January 3rd next year. This measure has been extended to all restaurants across the country from the 24th. In the metropolitan area, since the 23rd, when the administrative order was issued, intensive crackdown on various entertainment and restaurant areas has been implemented. An official from the city of Seoul said, “We plan to further strengthen on-site crackdowns by January 3,” and emphasized, “Only with active cooperation from citizens, such as voluntarily canceling private meetings such as families, can the spread of the current infection be prevented.”
