The fire that broke out in the scrub area near Ekmeksiz Beach, near Sığacık Mahallesi in Seferihisar district of Izmir, has grown rapidly with the effect of the strong wind.
SWIMMERS RUN TO SAVE THEIR CAR ON THE BEACH
When the flames started burning the two cars in a row, 57 of the 300 vehicles lined up in a row completely burned, 45 vehicles were damaged. Beach sunbathers and swimmers mobilized to save their cars.
Upon the notice, 14 fire trucks belonging to Seferihisar and Izmir Metropolitan Municipalities, 6 sprinklers belonging to the Regional Directorate of Forestry, three helicopters and 80 forest workers intervened in the fire.
8 PEOPLE WERE INJURED
It was stated that 8 citizens who wanted to save their cars from flames were injured and treated in ambulances. Sığacık Seferihisar road was closed to traffic for a long time. It was announced that there was great chaos when citizens wanted to save their cars and that dozens of cars had material damage.

Married and father of two, Hayrettin Dönmez (54), who came to Ekmeksiz Beach with his family from Izmir for a weekend holiday, “We were swimming with my wife and children, suddenly smoke and flames rose, but we did not think that it could come to the cars we parked, then black smoke came out. , they started to shout that the cars were burning, and when we went running, our car was on fire, we were in shock, and many of our belongings in the car were also burned ”.
Seferihisar Municipality brought the people whose cars were burning and stuck in the city center by buses. Police and firefighters launched an investigation into the fire.
