The legendary line-up of the band was also present on the first day of filming, praising the actors chosen for the main roles, who, according to the filmmakers, are “not only with a heart in music, but also a similar appearance”.

Gatis Grāvers, who plays his father, singer Aigars Grāvers, Carnival Youth musician Roberts Vanags will be Aigars Grauba, Latvian National Theater actor Raimonds Celms will be Ainars Ašmanis and Latvian Puppet Theater actor Rihards Zihards Aigars Krēsla. As it is known, for the first years the group also included Ingus Ulmanis and Aigars Voitišķis, who will be played in the film by Mārtiņš Zvirbulis (Ingus Ulmanis) and Gvido Valters (Aigars Voitišķis).

According to the filmmakers, it will not be just about the group “Jumprava”, it is a story about the period from 1984 to 1991 – about how the group and like-minded people saw a way to address their peers and society as a whole. Their efforts were heard and appreciated. And so came the legendary group Jumprava.

As the film’s director Aigars Grauba says: “Jumprava is an accompanying group of songs that no longer belong to the group, but to the people, because it is the listeners who connect these melodies and resonate with their experiences, emotions and experiences.”

The release of the film is planned for the beginning of 2022. It is being created with the support of the National Cinema Center and Valmiera Municipality.
