In Jēkabpils, on the island of Krustpils, on August 12 and 13, the International Music Festival will be held for the second time “Jēkabpils blues days”. Representatives of various genres from Latvia will perform at the festival, as well as special guests from Lithuania, Italy and Scandinavia. The best “blues”, “soul”, “rockabilly” and “R&B” compositions performed by professional musicians will be heard at the sunset concert.

One of the artists who will perform at the festival – Anthony Basso – will take the stage together with the musicians of the “Latvian Blues Band”. The guitarist, singer and songwriter was born in 1989 in Italy and represents one of the most interesting talents on the international blues rock music scene today.

“The Rolling Stones meets ZZ Top, Otis Redding meets Bruce Springsteen, Bob Seger meets Jimi Hendrix meets Neil Young,” could describe Anthony, who has developed his signature sound of strong blues-rock, funk, a synthesis of soul and country music, according to the festival organizers.

The festival program will be enriched by blues classics performed by “Big Al & The Jokers” and powerful rockabilly by “Eddie Dove Band”.

On Saturday evening, with a special program created for “Jēkabpils Blues Days”, Aija Andreeva will take the stage together with the group “Very Cool People” and will perform the program “Vibes of Woodstock”, in which Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Aretha Franklin and other world famous artists will be heard. musicians’ compositions.

The festival will take place in a picturesque place by the Daugava – in the green area of ​​the Krustpils island. The event has a free format so that listening is as comfortable as possible. Visitors are invited to come to “Jēkabpils Blues Days” with their folding chairs or blankets/blankets. The organizers point out that it is forbidden to bring food and drinks to the event site, as they will be available for purchase in outdoor cafes at the event site.
