PRAGUE The coronavirus pandemic thwarted plans for a major film festival, yet Karlovy Vary will take place, but only in a “half” version. Festival films will be presented in four Karlovy Vary cinemas on four days (November 18-21). The authors of the design of the festival poster presented on Wednesday are again the Najbrt studio.
The new logo is minimalist and is deliberately cut in half. “We were excited about how it turned out and how it says about this year,” said Jiří Bartoška, the festival’s president, at the press conference for the poster.
Viewers can also look forward to films from the Sundance, Berlinale and Cannes festivals during the “shortened but even more cinematic” show. It will be screened in the large and small hall of the Thermal Hotel, in the Karlovy Vary Municipal Theater and in the Čas cinema.
The organizers will publish the complete program on October 19, tickets can be purchased in advance from October 21.
