Professional chess player Kwon Jiaryong Kudan died of illness on the 23rd at the age of 66.

In 1975, Quan Jialong Jiudan became the 99th in Korea in 2021. Together with his daughter Kwon Hyojin Seventh Dan, he is known as the number one father-daughter professional chess player in Korea.

In 1982, Kwon Jiaryong founded the Kwon Jiaryong Go Dojo, and dedicated his life to cultivating younger players in the Kwon Jiaryong Go Dojo and Kwon Jiaryong International Go Academy.

In 1989, Kwon Jialong trained Park Seung-moon, its first professional chess player. Since then, Lee Se-dol (retired), Won Sung-jin, Cui Zhe-han, Baek Hong-hee, Kang Dong-yoon, Kim Ji-seok, Park Jung-hwan, Yoon Young-sun and other 8 male and female world champions and Li Yingjiu, More than 50 professional chess players including Yin Tianxiang and Chen Shiyuan.

In 1993, Quan Jialong won the Special Merit Award of the Go Culture Award.

The survivors include his wife, Park Ok-joo, and two daughters. The funeral will be held at 6:30 am on the 26th, and the cemetery will be at the Seoul Memorial Park.
