Castellón has programmed a cycle of professional theater aimed at children for the special Easter program, which will take place between April 1 and 9. The Department of Culture has designed a scenic proposal with four companies from Castellón that will offer “quality theater, made at home” and that represents “an alternative for families looking for activities for these holidays”, as explained by the mayor of the area, Verónica Ruiz.

The councilor has also emphasized the fact that “with this new proposal we contribute to the reactivation of professional sectors linked to culture and we do so with all health measures to offer a safe culture and that citizens can return to the theater with all the guarantees ”.

Thus, the Thursday, April 1, it will be Caixó Theater and its production ‘Dalí, Savior of himself’, who turns on the scenic neon again in the Conde Pestagua space. It will do so within the Dijous al Raval campaign, which is rescheduled with the four dates of the sessions postponed due to the closure of municipal spaces for this first quarter of the year. The work, aimed at a more general public, takes the public into the life of the artist.

For the family audience, Xarop Teatre will take the stage with the play ‘El conte de l’avar’ (April 7, Wednesday), La Troupe Malabó will do so with the performance of ‘Sophie’ (April 8, Thursday), and Hop! Teatre will perform the play ‘Iaios’ (April 9, Friday). The performances will take place at the Teatre del Raval in Castelló, at 6:00 p.m.

The three works of this program promoted by Culture are diverse and are aimed at a family audience, although they will also ‘hook’ the adult audience with staging and polyhedral themes. ‘El conte de l’avar’ (by Xarop Teatre) pivots between ‘The Christmas Carol’ by Charles Dickens and ‘El misavar de Molière’, stories that he adapts to a combination of puppets and performers. On the other hand, ‘Sophie’ (from La Troupe Malabó), brings the circus to the stage with a feminist vindication full of humor, songs and the art of the “clown”. And, to close the week, ‘Iaios’ (from Hop! Teatre) weaves the history of the ancestors of the two protagonists from memory and emotion.

Dijous al Raval continues in the month of May

The Dijous al Raval cycle that Dalí will open will continue with the Pho Theater and ‘The legend of chess’ (May 6), the representation of ‘Mariana Pineda’, from 3000 Ducados (May 13), and the season ‘Cartones’ will close, by Splai Teatre (June 3).

Tickets are already on sale on the municipal website entrades.castello.es and can also be obtained at the box office on the same day of the performances (3 and 4 euros).

More family activities on the Planetari

Culture complements this program with the recreational-educational activities that it has prepared at the Planetari de Castelló. The public will find the exhibition ‘Morelladón & Cia’, which brings the paleontological findings of Els Ports closer to visitors. This will also be the central axis of the PaleoJocs and PaleoTallers, activities scheduled during Easter week that are added to the PlanetaJocs and PlanetaLab.

On the wide screen, there are 17 sessions planned in Valencian and Spanish, which include the screening of the film released this year for the Planetari’s 30th birthday, ‘Beyond the sun: Beyond the Sun’. Between April 6 and 11 there will also be two morning sessions and in the afternoon, and all the information can be consulted on the web www.castello.es and tickets can be purchased on the web entrades.castello.es.
