The family of Kongsberg victim: Will be deeply missed

Andréa Meyer was one of the five killed by Espen Andersen Bråthen on Wednesday night. The family’s assistance lawyer, Knut Fure, sent out a statement on Sunday on behalf of the woman’s family and survivors.

– Andrea leaves behind an adult child. The daughter expresses great sorrow and longing for the loss of her mother. Andrea will be deeply missed by both her Norwegian and German family. The family otherwise wants peace after this tragic event, the statement says.

Meyer was from Germany, but had lived in Norway and Kongsberg for several years. She was a well-known author and musician in several music genres and with a number of releases behind her. She had also participated in a recording with Norwegian Satyricon in 1996.

Music journalist Didrik Søderlind says VG that Andréa Meyer had a fan base in underground music all over the world.

– In Norway, Andréa Meyer was unknown because the Norwegian press does not cover this type of alternative music, but for example in Germany she was one size, he tells the newspaper.

Lawyer Astrid Røkeberg has so far been appointed as coordinating assistance lawyer for the relatives after all five who were killed at Kongsberg on Wednesday night.

Several assistance lawyers will be appointed for the various families over the next few days.
