CENTRAL MAMUJU, KOMPAS.com – Family journalist Demas Laira (28), murder victim in Middle Mamuju, West Sulawesi hopes that the perpetrators of the murder can be revealed by the police.

The family believes Demas Laira is not the victim of a robbery.

The reason is that a number of belongings of the victim, such as the motorbike used and others, were still found at the location with the victim.

The victim’s motorbike was still running on the side of the road when the owner was dead.

The amateur video finding the body of Demas Laira, a resident of Salobijau Hamlet, Tasokkoe Village, Karossa District, Mamuju Tengah Regency, West Sulawesi, has shocked a number of Trans Sulawesi road users passing the location.

The body of this young man was found lying on the side of the road, Thursday (20/8/2020) with several stab wounds on his body. Suspected of being a murder victim.

Tabita, the victim’s brother who received news of her sister’s death, admitted that she was devastated.

In the eyes of the family, Demas is a patient and friendly young man.

“The last time he called from Palu said he wanted to go home late in the evening, but until morning he never returned home. We were shocked because on Facebook the victim was found lying on the road, ”explained Tabita.

A number of close relatives of the victim could not help crying to find the victim’s figure lying lifeless.

The victim’s eldest brother, who recognized the figure and personality of his younger brother, even fainted several times.

Demas was first found by a motorist passing by the location.

The driver was shocked when he saw the figure of a young man lying on the road, while the motorbike he was driving was still running. He then conveyed it to local residents.

Residents immediately came to the location to check who the young man who was reported killed was.

It was later discovered that the victim was a local online journalist in Central Mamuju.

The condition of the victim was found to be full of sharp objects punctured. The police identified stab wounds on the victim’s body, including on the chest, back, stomach and arms of the victim. Allegedly was a murder victim.

Previously, the police promised to act quickly to thoroughly investigate the Demas murder case.

The police hope that the family will be patient and give confidence to the police, so that the suspect who killed the victim can be immediately revealed.

“At first we suspected the victim was an accident, but after the officers identified it, stab scars were found on the victim’s body,” explained Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Central Mamuju Police, Iptu Agung Setyo Negoro.

In addition, the police have also examined several eyewitnesses who initially began to see the victim.

In fact, one shoe was found not far from the victim’s body, allegedly belonging to the perpetrator who was left behind at the scene.

The police are currently investigating whether the victim was killed due to robbery or was killed because of his profession as a journalist.
