If Europe speaks a common language on this central question of the European peace order, it will have an encouraging effect on our friends and neighbors in Eastern Europe. It also sends a sign of transatlantic unity. Russia’s military activities in the Black Sea, which also has NATO countries as neighbors, require close cooperation in the transatlantic community of values, which is firmly on the side of Ukraine.

The CDU / CSU parliamentary group reaffirms its commitment to the full sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. A renewed aggression by Russia against Ukraine would shake the foundations of the European security order. “
