The end of the heat wave is in sight

Last week’s extreme heat seems to be over. Today it remains cloudy with a chance of thunderstorms. The maximum temperatures nowhere rise above 26 degrees, thus announcing the end of the nationwide heat wave.

After the haze and local fog banks have cleared, there will be wide clearings on Monday. After that, more cloud fields arise with some local showers. These showers may be accompanied by a few thunders or even a thunderstorm and are slightly more numerous and intense in the west of the country. The maximums fluctuate from 21 to 23 degrees in the coastal region and the Ardennes to 24 to 26 degrees elsewhere, the RMI predicts.

There may still be a few showers on Monday evening. At night it usually becomes dry with local formation of low clouds and possibly also some mist or a fog bank. The minima fluctuate between 11 degrees in some Ardennes valleys and 16 degrees in Flanders.

After the lifting of the possible morning gray Tuesday, sun and clouds alternate. There are still a few showers, possibly with a thunderclap here and there. The maxima fluctuate from 19 degrees in the High Fens to 24 degrees in the center.

On Wednesday the RMI expects fairly sunny weather first, after the possible morning gray. Gradually cloud cover increases from the southwest with rain from the west in the late afternoon or evening. The maxima are between 21 and 26 degrees with a moderate wind from south to southwest.

On Thursday it will be a lot warmer again, with maximums of 25 to 30 degrees. It is partly cloudy and dry in many areas, but over the west there is more chance of rain at intervals.
