MIAMI, KOMPAS.com – Beloved Gabby Petito, Brian Laundrie, admitted his murder in writing before killing his partner, the FBI said on Friday (21/1/2022).

Gabby Petito is a celebrity whose disappearance and death shocked the United States last year.

Brian Laundrie killed himself with a bullet to the head when suspected of his possible role in Gabby Petito’s death, as the two of them traveled around the country, filming themselves along the way and posting videos of them on social media.

Brian Laundrie’s body was found on October 20, 2021, at a nature reserve in Florida along with several items, including a notebook.

“A review of the notebooks reveals written statements by Laundrie claiming responsibility for Petito’s death,” the FBI said. AFP.

Brian Laundrie also texted Gabby Petito’s cell phone in the days after she strangled her boyfriend to death last summer.

Gabby Petito’s family after speaking to the FBI said they believe Brian Laundrie killed their 22-year-old daughter.

The chronology of the death of Gabby Petito

The case of Gabby Petito caused a major media stir in the United States for weeks.

Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie left New York in July 2021 to tour the western United States in a van four months after Gabby Petito quit her job.

For days, they upload photos and videos on social networks. They are seen smiling at what looks like a scenic road trip.

But on September 1, 2021, Brian Laundrie returned without Gabby Petito to North Port, Florida, where they both live with his family.

His attitude also raised suspicion, especially after he refused to answer police questions and then fled on September 13, 2021.

Gabby Petito’s body was later found on September 19, 2021 in Wyoming’s Grand Teton National Park, and on October 12, 2021 police announced that the celeb was strangled to death.

A video released in September 2921 by police in Moab, a small town in Utah, further aroused Laundrie’s suspicions.
