The Empire State building color calendar

Every day when night falls, the spire of the Empire State building lights up in white. Bright lighting that highlights New York’s most famous building. But the Empire State building knows how to stand out even more: some evenings, white lighting gives way to colored lighting.
Why these regular color changes? This tradition dates back to July 4, 1976, on the occasion of 200 years of American independence: that evening, the Empire State building was illuminated in red, white, blue, the colors of the American flag. Faced with the success of this illumination, it was decided to repeat the experience and extend it with other plays of light throughout the year.
