The electricity meter photo sending service is open again until 27 September 2020

KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. Although currently the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is implementing Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB), PT PLN (Persero) ensures that meter registering officers are still recording meters directly to post-paid customers’ homes. This is done to check electricity consumption.

However, PLN has again opened the service for reporting the stand-by number of kWh meters or electricity meters independently for the calculation of electricity bills in October 2020. Independent recording is carried out if the meter registrar cannot come directly to the customer’s house.

The service, which has been open since Thursday (9/24/2020), will end on Sunday (9/27/2020). This service can be used by customers by simply sending a photo of the kWh meter stand number to the PLN Whatsapp or WA number. Reports from customers sent via WA will later become the basis for calculating the customer’s electricity bill each month.

PLN Executive Vice President for Corporate Communication & CSR Agung Murdifi confirmed that his party was still carrying out meter readings while still paying attention to the Covid-19 prevention guidelines. PLN also continues to provide self-reporting services. Agung said, valid customer self-reporting would be the main priority for calculating electricity bills.

“So if the customer sends the kwh meter stand number and we declare it valid, we will use the report as the basis for calculating the account. Even though the officer notes the meter visits the customer’s house,” said Agung.

The last option, he continued, if the location of the customer’s house cannot be visited by officers and the customer does not send an independent report via WhatsApp, then PLN will use an average of 3 months as the basis for calculating the electricity bill.
