The company with which the caretaker Minister of Economy Kiril Petkov stated that Bulgaria is negotiating a plant in Bulgaria is the manufacturer of electric cars Next.e.GO, 24 Chasa writes, citing its source, which it defines as “one of the main project engines and a participant in the negotiations ”.

According to the publication, the company is looking for land in six countries, with the idea to build its own plants in them. Six months ago, it was confirmed that a company would be opened in Greece. EUR 100 million will be invested in it.

The plan is to invest 140m euros in Bulgaria, which is already a popular place for the plant. It is about the land of the brothers Kiril and Georgi Domuschievi in the Balkan factory. According to 24 Chasa, the two have been actively involved in the negotiations and have made a “significant” contribution to the deal.

The plant will be built in Lovech by 2023 and will employ 1,000 people. The negotiations themselves are in their final phase and details of the deal are being clarified. The communication on the issue has been going on for months, and the investors have been in Bulgaria for a week.

We remind you that on Sunday the caretaker Minister of Economy revealed that negotiations are underway with a company, but did not reveal which one.

“For the first time in Bulgarian history, we have attracted a large European company for the production of electric cars,” he told Nova TV, adding that in the next two weeks it will become clear whether the contract will be signed.

The source, who remains anonymous, said a memorandum would be signed between the economy ministry and investors on Saturday, pledging to the Council of Ministers to approve 34m euros in state support for the construction of the plant by July 20th. The electric cars manufactured by Next.e.Go are under the e.GO brand. They are small and manage to travel nearly 200 km on a single battery charge, and their starting price is 26 thousand euros.
