Vilkul was elected by secret ballot, in which they did not participate deputies from the Power of People party. Representative “Servants of the people” left the hall after the refusal of the secretary of the Kryvyi Rih City Council Alexander Kotlyar from his post.
According to journalists, “Vilkula Bloc. Ukrainian Perspective” and “Opposition Platform – For Life” took part in the secret ballot. 32 deputies voted for Vilkul, 33 people took part in the voting.
On August 15, it became known about the death of the 48-year-old mayor of Krivoy Rog Konstantin Pavlov. He became mayor in December 2020, being at that time an adviser to the then mayor of Vilkul.
In the fall of 2020, during Vilkul’s election campaign, three times in a month and a half turned to doctors for help because of heart problems, he underwent surgery. After that, Bfirst withdrew his candidacy from the second round of elections.
