The order fell to the police court on Friday following the death of Filippo (PHOTO), fatally struck on October 24, 2017 around 6:30 p.m. at the crossroads of Saint-Homme in Thulin by Cédric’s van. The man was sentenced to a 12-month suspended prison term of 5 years; to a criminal fine of 4,800 euros, half of which is firm and half of which is suspended for 3 years.
He was deprived of the right to drive for 15 months, including 5 months firm (the rest accompanied by a suspension for 3 years). The conviction for drunkenness implies that his return to driving will be subject to a medical and psychological examination.
As for compensation for the civil party (the widow of Filippo and her two young children), Cédric’s insurance had intervened in its time: he will not have to compensate him more.
► The sanction leaves Sophie hungry: Filippo’s widow reacts to this announcement.
► Actions have been taken to secure this dangerous crossroads.
