The exchange rates of the dollar against the pound recorded a new rise by about two piasters in the official dealings of Egyptian banks on Monday, as the price of the dollar in the Central Bank of Egypt recorded 16.16 pounds for purchase, and 16.26 pounds for sale.
The dollar exchange rate was recorded in the National Bank of Egypt, the Bank of Egypt, the Alexandria Bank, the Housing and Development Bank, the National Bank of Kuwait, and the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank 16.15 pounds for purchase, and 16.25 pounds for sale.
The price of foreign currency at CIB, Arab African Bank, United Bank, Kuwait International Bank, HSBC, Credit Agricole and Cairo Bank increased to 16.16 pounds for purchase and 16.27 pounds for sale.
The exchange rate at Al Baraka Bank was 16.03 pounds for purchase, and 16.13 pounds for sale.
This comes at a time when the dollar continues to decline globally, as the dollar fell against the currencies of Australia, New Zealand and the pound sterling after a surprising improvement in US labor market data, which supported expectations of economic recovery, which reduced demand for the US currency as a safe haven, according to Reuters.
