The duel will take place at the Hotspur Stadium in Tothenburg, England’s English Premier League.
Joshua will try to defend the World Boxing Association (WBA), International Boxing Federation (IBF) and World Boxing Organization (WBO) champion belts in the fight against Usik.
Joshua had planned to compete for the title this year with his compatriot World Boxing Council (WBC) champion Tyson Fury. True, the US Arbitration Court ruled that Fury should first defend his belt against the American Deonteja Wilder. July 24 was set as the date of the fight, but Covid-19 infection was found in the Fury camp, so the duel was moved.
Joshua, 31, fought his last fight in December, when he defeated Bulgarian Kubrat Pula. Joshua has played 25 fights in professional boxing, of which 24 have won, 22 of them with a slaughter.
Meanwhile, the 34-year-old Usik last fought in October, when he defeated the British Derek Chizor by points. Ukraine has won two heavyweight fights and won both.
Usikam has 18 fights in professional boxing behind him, all won, 13 of them with a slaughter. In January 2018, he defeated Latvian Mairi Briedi in points in the first heavyweight category semi-final of the first season of the World Boxing Super Series in Riga.
