The Czechia is third in the world in the relative number of new infections per week

According to the NYT, the Czech Republic is in third place in the world in the number of cases infected per 100,000 inhabitants last week, ahead of Montenegro on Friday.

With more than 31,000 cases in seven days, the Czechia is now in 12th place worldwide (the first is India with more than half a million infected, the second is the United States with 334,000) behind the Netherlands and Ukraine and, for example, Israel, Belgium and Italy.

Overall, the Czech Republic ranks 33rd in the world in the number of people infected since the beginning of the pandemic per 100,000 inhabitants, and in the European Union in fifth place, it has surpassed Sweden since Friday. Only Spain, Luxembourg, Belgium and France are worse off.
