From the early evening, storms began to pass through the Czech Republic from the southwest. They gained the greatest strength over the Vysočina region. Hail fell over two centimeters in diameter in Havlíčkův Brod. Firefighters in the region recorded a number of exits, especially to the fallen trees.

The storms are set to continue northeast. The Czech Hydrometeorological Institute has issued a warning of strong thunderstorms for the belt from southern Bohemia to Silesia, in the northern part of the Vysočina Region meteorologists have increased the degree of danger from low to high. During the night, the storms should stop, but in parts of Moravia and Silesia they will be replaced by heavy rain.

In the Jeseníky, Beskydy and Bohemian-Moravian Highlands, precipitation totals reach up to 40 millimeters in half a day. Especially below the Jeseníky Mountains and in the Králicko region, there is also a risk of floods, river levels rise to the first degree of flood activity, and the rise may be even more pronounced on smaller streams.


It was over 34 degrees, but the daily records generally withstood

On Saturday, they will reach a maximum temperature of 16 to 20 degrees Celsius, in Moravia and Silesia during constant rain it will be even colder. Temperatures in many places will be barely half compared to a very warm Friday.

Historical temperature records for July 10 fell in six places. One of them was Brod nad Dyjí, with 34.2 degrees Celsius also the warmest place in the whole republic. Meteorologists also set a new daily record in Kuchařovice (33.4 degrees), Dukovany (33.3 degrees), České Budějovice (33 degrees), Velké Meziříčí (31.6 degrees) and Rýmařov (28 degrees).

It was more than 33 degrees in eighteen places in the Czech Republic, for example in Dobřichovice in Central Bohemia, thermometers without a tenth showed 34 degrees, in Dyjákovice, Průhonice and Řež it was 33.7 degrees. However, the daily records did not fall in these places, which are usually among the warmest in the country. Especially in 2002 and 2010, July 10 was even warmer.
