The winners of the 11 categories will be announced on November 23 during the ceremony of announcing the 48th International Emmy Awards in New York. The American Emmy Awards were dominated by the Watchmen series a few days ago, and this year’s ceremony took place without spectators and a red carpet.

The theme of the #martyisdead miniseries is cyberbullying. The director of the series is Pavel Soukup, screenwriters are Jaroslav T. Miška and Jan Stehlík, producers Vratislav Šlajer, Jakub Košťál and Milan Kuchynka. The main role was played by Jakub Nemčok, followed by Petra Bučková, Jan Grundman, Sára Korbelová, Matěj Havelka and Andrej Polák. The series was created by Bionaut, Mall.tv, Cz.nic and in collaboration with the Safely on the Net project.

The series is about the story of fifteen-year-old Martin alias Marty, who spins himself and his loved ones on a mobile phone in moments that everyone would rather erase from memory.

The series will continue

“We are very happy. It is a selection from a thousand world series, so the nomination is very prestigious. We are glad that after the success in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the series is also successful abroad. It is great that Czech genre production can succeed in the world, “said producers Vratislav Šlajer and Jakub Košťál from Bionaut. The sequel to the series called #annaismissing is again co-produced by Bionaut and Mall.tv, and will appear in cinemas and Internet television in May 2021.

Nominations for the International Emmy Awards are not the only success of the #martyisdead series. He also has a chance to score in the poll Křišťálová Lupa 2020 – Czech Internet Award, in which he was nominated for the best online video. Last year, it became the best web series in Central and Eastern Europe at the Serial Killer festival, where it premiered at the world.

The International Emmy Awards have been announced by the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and have been awarded annually in November since 1973.
