Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic Jan Lipavsky spoke about the situation with the admission of Russian hockey players to NHL matches in Prague.

“The position of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on issuing visas to Russian hockey players San Jose Sharks and Nashville Predators for the start of the NHL season in Prague does not change. They do not need to receive Schengen visas. If they already have valid visas, they should be admitted, but the ongoing negotiations could change that, “Lipavsky quotes Eurozpravy.cz.

On 7 and 8 October the teams will meet in Prague. Earlier, the Czech Foreign Ministry reported that it did not intend to let Russian hockey players into the country. In total, eight Russians can skip this match: Yaroslav Askarov, Yakov Trenin, Yegor Afanasiev, Artemy Knyazev, Alexander Barabanov, Danil Gushchin, Timur Ibragimov and Evgeny Svechnikov.
