The Culture Center has started contract training “Ratu ratujo”

In Jonava, the project “Republican contract festival SUTARYSMA” financed by the Lithuanian Culture Council and the Jonava district municipality has been implemented, and part of it is “Ratu ratujo” training for contract students.

The training is conducted by Liuda Liaudanskaitė, doctor of ethnomusicology, teacher of traditional music. “Ratu ratujo” classes have already been successfully held in Switzerland, started in Kulva, and will later travel to the settlements of Bukonyi and Upninkai.

Members of folklore ensembles, teachers and everyone interested in singing and Lithuanian culture are invited to participate in the training.

The project “Republican sutartinai festival SUTARYSMA” aims to present to the public the tradition of sutartina singing not only as an intangible heritage value, included in the UNESCO list of intangible heritage, but also as a living tradition that brings communities together and promotes communication.

During the meetings, sutras are disseminated, the art of performing them is nurtured, and sutras are presented as part of the Aukshaita identity.

You will be able to hear how the inhabitants of rural areas managed to learn contract language on July 15, during the contract language festival “Sutarysma”.
