His Highness said: “I would like to thank His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the Egyptian government for hosting the two events on the territory of the sister Arab Republic of Egypt this year, coinciding with the convening of the (COP27), which brings together the countries of the world under a single umbrella to promote global climate ambitions, stimulating joint action at the local, regional and global levels, which stems from the belief of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Arab Republic of Egypt in the importance of collective participatory work to address the environmental and climatic challenges that the region and the world are witnessing ”.

Goals of the Green Saudi Initiative
The Green Saudi Initiative aims to plant (10) billion trees across the Kingdom over the next few decades and increase the percentage of protected areas to (30%) of the Kingdom’s total areas, as well as reduce carbon emissions by (278) million tons per year by 2030.
These national targets contribute to achieving the regional goals demanded by the Kingdom at the top of the Green Middle East Initiative, which is to reduce carbon emissions in the region by more than (10%) of global contributions, and to plant (50) billion trees in the region. according to a program considered the largest in the world for planting trees.
