Genoa – The countdown to ritorno a Buckingham Palace with the complex and intricate events of the English royal family has officially begun. Netflix has finally announced that the fourth season of “The Crown” will be available this fall, starting November 15th.
And according to the advances that have emerged so far, the next chapter of the following series created by Peter Morgan promises to be nothing short of epic, full of intrigues and tensions at court.
The trailer (below) opens with the words of Queen Elizabeth, on horseback in full dress, and once again played by Olivia Colman: “The monarchy is too important to be allowed to fail,” exclaims the sovereign; as the images move to two central themes around which the plot will revolve: on the one hand, the conflicts between the queen and the first and only female premier of the United Kingdom, the severe and rigid Margaret Thatcher, played by Gillian Anderson, famous for the role of Dana Scully in the television series The X-Files; and on the other the tormented love story between Prince Charles (Josh O’Connor) and Diana Spencer, played by another new entry, the very young Emma Corrin: from the first meeting in 1977 to the wedding, celebrated on 29 July 1981 in Saint Paul’s Cathedral, in London, and followed by millions of people around the world .

For Emma Corrin, still little known, the role of Lady D certainly represents a nice springboard: «I am more than excited and honored to participate in The Crown for its fourth season. I stayed glued to the show from the first episode, and to think that now I will be part of this incredible family of acting talents is just surreal. Princess Diana was an icon, and her contribution to the world remains profound and inspiring. I will do everything to do it justice, “commented the young actress, who, as announced by Netflix, in the last two seasons of” The Crown “will be replaced by Elizabeth Debicki.
