This was announced by the Bulgarian ambassador in the country

The crew of one of the three detained Bulgarian fishing vessels in the Romanian port of Constanta was released after the questioning of its captain was completed. This was announced by the ambassador of Bulgaria in Romania, Radko Vlaikov.

The questioning of the captains of the other two ships is currently underway and it is expected that within two hours it will be completed and they will also be released, and there is a high probability that the ten sailors will be released this evening, Ambassador Vlaikov said. He added that relatives of the sailors arrived on the spot and brought them clothes.

However, the ambassador indicated that the ships would be detained and sealed with a prosecutor’s order. Given the late hour at which the interrogations will end, the Romanian authorities will probably allow sailors who cannot return to Varna tonight to spend the night on one of the ships and it will be sealed tomorrow morning, he added.

Ambassador Vlaikov emphasized that in the last 36 hours, the efforts of the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy were fully focused on the work of releasing the sailors, and how the issue with the ships will develop depends entirely on the Romanian prosecutor’s office.
