Obsidian is working on something big.
Obsidian is currently working on an unknown project. The company opened several new vacancies. This suggests that these things are really starting to gain momentum. All we know at the moment is that an undisclosed game will become an RPG and will be big. Due to the recent success of Outer Worlds, fans need to be thrilled.
We know that Obsidian is still working on new content for Outer Worlds, as well as for Gounded. However, the third game is a complete mystery. The first paragraph of the job list from their website reads as follows.
“Obsidian Entertainment is always looking for creative individuals interested in challenging environments that create the best role-playing games in the world. If you are looking for a new generation of role-playing games in a friendly, pleasant atmosphere, we want to hear it from you! ”
As you can imagine, this has already caused a lot of controversy on forums on the Internet. The first and most obvious assumption is that Obsidian is going to develop another Fallout game. After all, they were the inspiration for Fallout: New Vegas. No matter how crazy it may seem at first glance, this is not impossible. Given how sad things have been at Bethesda recently, perhaps the best option would be to transfer responsibility to another studio for the time being. Moreover, Fallout 76 was a complete disaster.
We know that Obsidian has a very talented and respectable team. Fallout: New Vegas is also considered the best of the Fallout franchise. Perhaps we will see another Fallout game led by Obsidian in the near future.
