The Covid-19 Vaccine Changes the Menstrual Cycle, These are Experts Say

JAKARTA, iNews.idVaccination This is an important thing to do during the Covid-19 pandemic sweeping the world. But it is undeniable that vaccinations are often accompanied by side effects, most of which are harmless and only show a response to your immune system

Usually the body’s response is fever, chills, headache, muscle aches, and pain at the injection site. Then is it true, the latest report showing the Covid-19 vaccine can also bring changes to the cycle? period or menstruation?

Until now the Covid-19 vaccine brings changes in the menstrual cycle or not is a topic of debate. However, a report published in the British Medical Journal reported by the Times of India on Sunday (19/9/2021), states that there is a possible link between changes in the menstrual cycle and the Covid-19 vaccine.

However, this issue requires further investigation. The editorial author, Dr Victoria Male, from Imperial College London, attributes the problem to the body’s immune response, as well as the ingredients in the vaccine. Delayed menstruation, heavy or unexpected bleeding are some of the suspected side effects of the Covid-19 vaccine in women.

Although, such changes in the menstrual cycle have not been recognized as a side effect of the vaccine, experts demand an investigation into the same. Until now, the side effects of the Covid-19 vaccine have been mild and not a cause for concern.

That said, menstrual cycle changes, while perhaps worrying many women, given heavy bleeding or delayed schedules, are not a cause for concern. Some vaccinated women report only temporary menstrual cycle changes. The cycle returns to normal in the next period.
