Venezuela surpassed this Sunday, August 2, the 20,000 cases of covid-19 coronavirus. The national government reported the detection of 633 community transmission infections and 130 of the imported calls.
The executive vice president, Delcy Rodríguez, stated that with these figures the national daily total was 763 cases, which brings the accumulated total to 20,206.
Regarding the community, he explained that 212 new infections are in the Capital District, which already has 3,354 active infections; 152 cases in Miranda and Zulia, 96 new cases were registered.
The Zulia region has 691 active cases, added President Nicolás Maduro.
He said that of the 130 imported cases, 120 come from Colombia, 4 from Ecuador, 4 from Peru and 1 from Chile.

In the country, according to official data, 174 people have died from complications derived from covid-19.
For President Maduro, this week is important to stop the growth of cases.
“The objective is to stop growth by August 10, go to even easing, for sure. Pair the 7 + 7. We are going to do it, it is a decision made, but everyone should be aware that this week is crucial to cut chains of contagion ”.
