the city offers new free tests for Covid-19

A new Covid-19 screening operation will take place in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, starting tomorrow, Monday August 17. Solicited by the Regional Health Agency, the city, in collaboration with laboratories and the Basque Coast Hospital Center, is still seeking to identify cases of Coronavirus, and to isolate them. After making the wearing a mask is compulsory, Saint-Jean-de-Luz, which is currently experiencing a strong tourist influx, is still trying to counter the return of the epidemic.

Testing week

PCR tests (by the nasal route) will be carried out until August 21 at the Maréchal-Juin square, on Boulevard Thiers, very close to the Grand Hotel, at the same location as the previous screening operation. While two Lucien gendarmes tested positive for Covid-19, caution is still required in the City of Corsairs. The goal is to break the chain of transmission of the virus.

The schedule for the week of testing is as follows:

  • Monday August 17 and Tuesday August 18 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Wednesday August 19 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • Thursday August 20 and Friday August 21 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

People wishing to be tested are required to present themselves with their identity document, their Vitale card, a mask and if possible a pen, preferably black, in order to complete the administrative form.
