Most recently, 1860 idol Benny Lauth (39) was a guest at the virtual regulars’ table of the Bavarian state parliament – he willingly gave all participants, including the FDP parliamentary group leader Martin Hagen, information about his view of the lions.
Lauth has not yet ticked off the ascent: “Sixty has the potential to be there, the chance is still there. Only the breadth of the squad is a problem when compared to the other top teams. “
In perspective, however, he does not see the lions ideally positioned. “In terms of the stadium, NLZ and the entire structure, we are now a long way behind, so we have to start.”
Lauth was also asked explicitly several times about the location of the Grünwalder Stadium. A fan magazine had afterwards titled: “An expanded Grünwalder stadium would be the ideal solution.”
It is true, however, that the ex-national player likes the Grünwalder Stadium, but not for professional football around TSV 1860. Lauth once again made it clear to db24: “I think the Grünwalder Stadium is ideal, but only if it is being converted is possible for around 30,000 places. Anything below that makes no sense for 1860. 18,106 or 20,000 are total nonsense. The city can save the money and use it for more meaningful things. And if the city cannot significantly increase the number of spectators, then another solution is needed for 1860 – a different stadium. “
Due to the Corona crisis, the city of Munich has completely different worries anyway. The city bag is empty – and now the Oktoberfest is threatened with the second cancellation …
