The cheapest tractors on the market, straight from the Polish factory

Apparently, we no longer produce tractors of domestic construction in Poland. It turns out not to be true. At the Green Agro Show, the company Krawiec Traktor from Zwoleń showed three Polish tractors – inexpensive, simple, available immediately.

A few weeks ago, in Engine room, together with Matusz Misiak (known on YouTube as Metheo780), we wondered if it is possible to produce tractors or other self-propelled equipment in Poland? We found it difficult but not impossible.

During the Green Agro Show, the Krawiec Traktor company reminded us that there is no need to wait for a new manufacturer, because tractors are already being made in Poland. Although with medium power, in a small number, with engines that do not meet the Stage V standards, these are structures based on the proven Ursus technology, built from scratch in Poland, without external help, and are very well rated by customers. All vehicles produced in the vicinity of Zwoleń meet the co-financing conditions and can be registered in Poland until the end of 2022.

Made in Poland

In order to be able to sell equipment with a slightly older type of engines, the production must not exceed 100 units per year. Thus, the plant is small compared to large concerns, but with big plans for the future.

For the purposes of production, three new production halls were built and equipped with specialist equipment in Czarnolas near Zwoleń. Certainly, many people know this town from literature. Yes, this is where Jan Kochanowski used to sit under the linden tree and write. A quality management system was introduced in the company and thus the ISO: 9001 standard was obtained. And most importantly, the tractors manufactured “under the watchful eye” of Jan Kochanowski are sold on the stump, and the customers are satisfied.

Three Polish tractors

In Ułęż you could see three Kraft tractors with different powers and market value: 20C4PU and Kraft 20C4PS (both 60 HP) and Kraft 20C4LU (65 HP).

The first two machines are orchard tractors, also suitable for the cultivation of “soft” fruit such as raspberries, currants, gooseberries, etc. Moreover, the company from Zwoleń can adapt the tractors to the municipal version.

The 20C4PU and PS versions boast an original body designed by the Krawiec Traktor company. Under the hood you will find a Perkins type 1103D unit. This three-cylinder engine with a capacity of displacement 3300 ccm is compatible with engines known, among others. from Ursus MF255, Ursus 5044 or 4512, 3702 and 3702 Piko. In terms of the rear axle and gearbox, they are also interchangeable with the 3502.

The unladen weight in running order is 2,800 kg. As standard, the tractors have: PTO 540 rpm, three-point linkage 1.5 t (it is possible to buy a front three-point linkage as an option), typical rear hitch: agricultural and transport, with the necessary approvals, standard external hydraulic outputs allowing for aggregation of the necessary machines and devices (the number can be adjusted to individual needs, maximum hydraulic pump capacity: up to 40l / min), radio, power steering, heated cabin manufactured especially for Kraft tractors by Naglak, meeting the stringent noise and comfort requirements (it has appropriate approval). Air conditioning is available as an additional paid option. The 20C4PS has a slightly narrower front track of 1,400 mm (PU model – 1,600 mm) with smaller tires – 16 inches (PU 18 inch model). The tractors are also equipped with four LED work lights.

Cheap operation

At today’s prices, in addition to the attractive purchase amount, cheap operation is also important – only then can we fully say whether the machine is cheap or not. Representatives of the Krawiec Traktor company at the Green Agro Show assured that Kraft tractors are currently the cheapest tractors in operation in our country. This is due to low fuel consumption and well-available and cheap spare parts that fit the aforementioned Ursus tractors.

In addition, the farmer is able to repair many elements on his own. And if there is a fault that he cannot handle, the repair cost may be small and will be removed in almost every repair shop.

The Krawiec Traktor company ensures that, if necessary, the factory service will reach the tractor’s parking place within a few hours and remove any failure on the spot.

The cost of the 20C4PS and PU series tractors is PLN 136,000. PLN gross.

A new classic, i.e. Kraft 20C4LU

The third tractor at the Green Agro Show was the Kraft 20C4LU model, reminiscent of the classic Massey Ferguson 255. In this case, the cladding comes from Turkey, but the rest of the tractor is, as in the previous models, produced and assembled in Mazovia.

The engine is also a three-cylinder Perkins, this time type 1003D-D3TART48 with a displacement of 2990 cc. As in other Kraft tractors, the motor does not have unnecessary electronics or a DPF filter, but is equipped with turbo-charging with an intercooler – which is reminded by the stickers on the vehicle, which refer to the 1990s of the previous century, when the manufacturers liked to stick all information on the capabilities of the equipment.

The manufacturer recommends this small tractor without a cabin for barns and tunnels. Certainly, the tractor will be useful wherever it is tight, and the lack of a cabin will not be a problem. The standard equipment is similar to the models described above, with the difference that the 20C4LU model comes with standard weights (80 kg rear, 150 kg front) and the curb weight is 2500 kg.

4×4 z Carraro

All tractors are fitted with Carraro front axles and, of course, are four-drive. At the moment, the reverse is missing, but the factory is working on the issue and perhaps a modification will be made in the coming months.

The tractors have a 2-year warranty, with no limit of engine hours. The cost of the 20C4LU model is 125 thousand. PLN gross. There is also a version with a cabin, of course correspondingly more expensive.

Kraft does not fold the weapon

Machines can only be purchased this year. Unfortunately, the gate where a small manufacturer could produce Stage IIIA tractors is ending. Will Kraft still be available? The Krawiec Traktor company has announced that it will, but will inform you about the details when everything is buttoned up to the last button.

The company Krawiec Traktor was established on the basis of the existing companies, ie “Mechanika Maszyn i Urządzeń Rolniczych Krzysztof Krawiec” and “Krawet – Rol”. For about 30 years it has been dealing with diesel engine repairs, injection pumps regeneration, diesel engine heads regeneration and repairs of individual drive systems of agricultural tractors as well as entire tractors. Experience in comprehensive service and solid technical facilities have become a contribution to the start of the assembly of entire machines.
