Yordan Stoyanov, Chairman of the Municipal Council in Kavarna

The chairman of the Kavarna Municipal Council, Yordan Stoyanov, was attacked and beaten at around 5 am this morning. The blow was to the face, as a result of which his lip was split. He then lost consciousness, he told Pro News Dobrich.
The attack took place at the Makoma disco, where Stoyanov and his classmates were celebrating 20 years since graduation.
There, the owner of a restaurant in Kavarna went to him with a question whether he was the one who wanted to demolish his site. After Stoyanov replied that if the restaurant was illegal, it would be demolished, followed by the coup.
Stoyanov is the municipal leader of GERB. He has been chairman of the Kavarna Municipal Council since 2019. In April this year, a group of municipal councilors demanded his early release in connection with the case of the mayor of the village of Belgun who was beaten on the night of the April 4 elections. According to Mayor Blagomir Stanev, he was beaten in the office of GERB-Kavarna by businessman Ilian Sabev in the presence of Yordan Stoyanov. According to Stoyanov, this is a provocation because of the result of the April 4 elections. The investigation into the case continues, and the proposal for his early release was not accepted by the Municipality.
