“THE CAVE PARTY” IN COURT: Magnus Must Write “Everything”:

When the 24-year-old took the witness stand at the Oslo District Court on Tuesday, he finished his gratuitous explanation very quickly.

He doesn’t have much to say, because he just doesn’t remember what happened.

“I have glimpses, but I don’t know if they’re false memories from things that have been explained to me,” says Magnus.

He does not want TV 2 to write his surname, but has approved the use of his first name.

Together with another 20-year-old, he is offended in the criminal case against the two defendants after the much-talked-about “Grottefesten”.

The prosecutor will convict the two of culpable poisoning of the public after the scandalous party on the night of August 30, 2020.

The defendants deny criminal culpability for poisoning.

I barely remember the interrogation

Because the 24-year-old remembers little, State Attorney Daniel Sollie presents some of what he said during questioning with police following the incident.

It has been almost two years since he was questioned.

He then explained that he remembers dancing, walking and talking to people and drinking beer within the disused mountain complex.

– Today I don’t remember, he says after the lawyer has read what he explained in December two years ago.

– Do you remember saying that?

– I’m not aware of it, he replies.

– Do you remember the interviews with the police?

– I remember being at the police station, but I don’t remember the conversations, he says.

Both victims sustained permanent injuries as a result of coal poisoning. At the “Grottefesten”, the organizers had set up two petrol generators to run the party’s sound and lighting system.

The units were not getting enough ventilation and poisonous carbon monoxide gradually spread in the disused bunker.

I got lost jogging

He tells the court that he had a small taste of waking up in an ambulance on the night in question understanding nothing of the situation.

Also, there is a vague memory of him standing in the room where the units at the party were.

– I think I remember seeing the room where the unit was and that there was a guy on the floor. Actually, only what I remember, think, and that I was dizzy.

– Do you remember anything about your hospital stay?

– Very little. I just remember that I was very alone.

After being released from the hospital, he moved home with his mother, where he grew up. The prosecutor wants to know what the situation was like at the time.

– I was jogging and got lost in an area I know very well, says the 24-year-old.

She continues, both sense of direction and memory are impaired after carbon monoxide poisoning. She had no problem with that before the carbon monoxide poisoning.

– I don’t remember what I learned at school last week. I have to read it in my notes.

– He feels a little useless

Even everyday things like cooking are still a challenge.

– It’s hard to follow recipes and understand them. Remembering how long things should be on your plate, for example, she says.

Even social gatherings can be challenging, she says. She often sleeps fast for 14 hours after doing something with her friends.

– After a lecture, I don’t remember anything that was said. I have to write it all down and re-read it. It’s still not good, so it seems a bit pointless to go to school, she says and adds:

– That’s boring. I want to make it happen.

– I must have a shopping list with me or someone who is with me. if I go to the store and buy something, I go to the store and forget what I’m going to get. Then I have to call my roommate and remind myself.

Write down the minutes of conversation

During the certificate, it is clearly marked. While the situation has gradually improved a bit, he says he is very concerned that the development is going in a negative direction.

– When do you feel that things have gone downhill? asks the man’s legal adviser, Eitya Rehman.

– On days when there was a lot to do. So I can’t even remember what I did or what I ate.

In order not to forget the content of the conversations he had with friends, girlfriends and family, he often takes notes on the phone.

It also has a set of fixed reminders and alarms every single day. The prosecutor wants to know if he has examples of such reminders.

– Opera. Training. Chords, says and adds:

– There are many reminders and alarms.

The Oslo District Court has set aside ten days for the trial, which began on Tuesday last week. Over 20 witnesses were called to testify in the case.
