The castles of Châteaudun and Rambouillet, and the towers of the cathedral of Chartres reopen for visitors

Closed since March 15, the sites managed by the Center des monuments nationaux are gradually reopening. The Château de Rambouillet will reopen its doors on Sunday June 14. It will be necessary to wait Monday June 15 for the monuments of Eure-et-Loir.

Reception arrangements have been put in place by the Center des
national monuments, to guarantee “safe access and visit”. Wearing a mask is compulsory in all enclosed indoor spaces (reception, ticket office, boutique, chateau rooms, toilets, etc.). Compliance with the social distancing instructions will be reminded by the signage and by the reception staff. Hydroalcoholic gel distribution points will be made available to visitors, with free access, at the reception of the monument and on the visit circuit “to be used as often as desired”.

Free access to cultural sites in Chartres this summer

The visit offers have been adapted to comply with health regulations. In the castles, the CMN offers free visits with a visit document. Commented tours are temporarily suspended. In Chartres Cathedral, on the other hand, the discovery of the great roof will only be in groups of up to nine people, accompanied by an agent. This is to respect the quota of visitors within the building which remains fixed at ten people. However, a free visit to the cathedral towers is not immediately possible.
