According to the comparative table to the draft government decree, some innovations will affect cyclists. Changes in traffic rules define a cycle path, introduce the concepts of “cycle lane” and “cycle crossing”. Are regulated in detail rights and obligations cyclists.
Changes in traffic rules provide for the appearance of new road signs, in particular, for residential and pedestrian zones, the beginning of the settlement and its end, the direction of the turn, the place of permitted stopping and parking, as well as the prohibition of the movement of vehicles.
“Dumskaya” writes that on the sign “Gas station” there will be multi-colored drawings: for gas stations – black, for gas stations – blue. A separate sign will also appear to designate electric charging stations, and at the combined filling stations the symbols will be green.
There will be special signs to indicate safety islands and weight control zones, to prohibit the movement of trucks in hot weather, to indicate a possible evacuation without the knowledge of the drivers. The new rules will add the sign “Toll road” and “End of the toll road”
The requirement to warn about changes in traffic organization schemes with special signs two weeks in advance was removed from the rules.
In the new edition of the rules, different types of yellow stripes on the asphalt have been streamlined. Thus, the yellow stripe near the edge of the carriageway prohibits parking, and the yellow crossed-out square at the entrance to the courtyard or adjacent territory prohibits parking and shows the places that can be used by police cars and firefighters.
Public transport stops will be shown in yellow. The rules provide for markings to indicate “speed bumps” and pedestrian crossings over the road.
On Ukrainian roads, warning signs “Traffic Accident Concentration Place” and signs that will prohibit passage without snow chains may appear. Attention was paid to the designation of the tunnels, especially the length of more than a kilometer, and emergency exits from them.
Traffic rules have recently been tightened in Ukraine. March 12, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed law №1231-IX “On Amending Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Concerning Strengthening Responsibility for Certain Offenses in the Sphere of Road Safety”. Document will come into force at 0.01 on March 17.
At the Office of the President clarifiedthat the document allows police officers to use video recording tools with the obligatory attachment of such materials to the admin protocol.
