The Cabildo of Lanzarote allocates 261,000 euros in subsidies to the taxi

Lanzarote, through the Transport area, will allocate a total of 261,000 euros in subsidies aimed at the taxi sector, highlights this Wednesday the website of the insular Institution.

He emphasizes that this was announced by the Minister of Transportation, Nerea Santana, during the different meetings she held with the representatives of the taxi cooperatives on the island and in which the Minister of Mobility, Pancho Hernández, was also present.

Santana addressed the situation with the professionals of the sector:

“The delicate situation in which the sector finds itself, due to the health and economic crisis that we are experiencing due to the coronavirus.”

“From the Cabildo we are fully aware that there are certain groups that are having a really bad time, in this case the taxi drivers, who have not worked for many months.”

Nerea Santana explained that “all the island’s taxi licenses that are up to date will receive direct financial assistance of at least 600 euros” and added that “the bases for these subsidies are already available and they will be announced shortly. ”.
