The Bundestag called on the Cabinet of Ministers of Germany not to support Ukraine’s accession to the EU and NATO

Deputies of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party appealed to the FRG government with an appeal to “maintain neutrality” of Kiev and, if possible, speak out against Ukraine’s accession to the EU and NATO. This is stated in the appeal that RT got acquainted with.

“The German Bundestag calls on the federal government to maintain Ukraine’s neutrality, that is, if possible, to speak out against the country’s admission to the European Union and NATO,” the text says.

In their address, German deputies also repeatedly mention Russia and its ties with Ukraine.

In particular, according to them, Kiev and Moscow, despite the continuing deterioration of relations, “are connected with each other in cultural, religious, linguistic, economic and ethnic terms.”

“Ukraine cannot be faced with a choice between Russia and the West. This spurs a split in the country, ”the parliamentarians state.

In this context, AfD representatives recall the Association Agreement signed in 2014 between Ukraine and the EU, which “split” the country and “contributed significantly to the escalation of the internal conflict in the country”.

Thus, taking into account the current situation, the goal of the foreign policy of Berlin and Brussels “should be to develop ties with Russia and to include Ukraine in the overall integration,” the deputies added.

Earlier, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that NATO membership is strategic objective for the state.

In turn, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for European Integration Olga Stefanishina expressed confidence that the country will “definitely become” a member of the European Union… According to her, “it’s just a matter of time.”
