The Bordeaux hotel industry heavily impacted by the 2nd confinement

According to the Barometer of the hotel industry published by the CCI Bordeaux Gironde, in November, the occupation of the Bordeaux hotel industry declined despite the launch of the “Stay to Sleep” operation, inviting the inhabitants of the region to consume one or two nights at attractive prices from November 1 to January 3, 2021.

  • The TO achieved 15%, slightly below the national average of 16%, its lowest level since May and more than half as much compared to October.
  • The RevPAR of hotels is 10 € HT this month, down more than 80% compared to the previous year.

Good performance for Bordeaux economy residences

Economic residences in the Bordeaux metropolitan area recorded a significant drop in occupancy this month.

  • The TO reached 60% but this performance remains good in this context of reconfinement. Indeed, it is more than the average of 48% recorded at the scale of the Economy residences in the large agglomerations and more than the Economy hotel industry (15% of TO).
  • RevPAR is down 46%, and reaches 21 € HT. The Bordeaux Economic residences are those which record one of the best occupancy performances over the month among the large urban areas.
