The body of the late critic Magdi Al-Tayeb will travel today, Monday, on a plane to Aswan at two in the afternoon, accompanied by his two sons, Marwan and Jasser, and his brother Jamal, in order to bury the body in the family graves.

The Cinematographers Syndicate in Cairo will hold a funeral for the late Magdi Al-Tayeb, which will be determined later.

The director of photography, Mahmoud Abdel Samie, head of the Film Association, and its members mourned the departure of art critic Magdy Al-Tayeb.

Critic Magdy El-Tayeb was born on June 28, 1958 in Aswan – He obtained a BA in German language from the Faculty of Al-Alsun in 1982 – Postgraduate Diploma in Art Criticism from the Academy of Arts in 1987 – He won the Best Critical Article award from the Film Association in 1985 for the movie “Goodbye, Ya” Bonaparte” – Wrote many critical articles and film studies in many Arab newspapers, magazines and periodicals such as: the Lebanese “Art”, “The Magazine”, the Saudi “Man” and the Kuwaiti “Newspaper”, in addition to the Egyptian publications: “Voice of the Arabs”, “Al-Mawqif”. Al-Arabi, Al-Ahali, Al-Dustour, Rose Al-Youssef, Al-Kawakeb, Al-Funoun, The Seventh Art, and the Egyptian Magazine.

Headed the art section of “Nahdet Misr” newspaper since 2004. He is a member of the Egyptian Film Critics Association. An active member of the Film Syndicate (Criticism Division). Director of the Press Center of the Alexandria Film Festival in its twentieth session in 2004.

He held the position of Director of the Press Center of the Cairo Film Festival from 1999 to 2005.
