The biggest strike since 2011 took place in London – World – tsn.ua

Employees are not satisfied with the level of wages.

On Wednesday, February 1, teachers, drivers, border guards, as well as employees of airports and seaports protested in London. About half a million people took to the streets of the capital of Great Britain, demanding higher wages.

Due to the mass protest, schools were closed and the schedule of transport was changed, reports Euronews.

The British Congress of Trade Unions called this the biggest strike since 2011.

“We’re on strike because over the past 10 years we’ve actually had our pay cut,” said Graham, one of the protesters.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak condemns the strike. The government of the state believes that the increase in wages will contribute to inflation, reports Reuters.

Recall, January 31 in France over 1.2 million people protested. The protesters opposed raising the retirement age from 62 to 64 years.

Earlier TSN.ua reported that protests broke out in Brazil. Many citizens agreed with the results of the October 30 elections last year. Supporters of the ex-president broke into government buildings, because of which a state of emergency was introduced in the country.
