The biggest revelations and trailers of the Game Awards 2022

Also this year the Game Awards took place, the biggest award show ever for games. Once again there were plenty of new game announcements and trailer reveals setting the mood for the upcoming year of gaming.

Even if some information was leaked beforehand, the live show could still hold a surprise or two. We round up the highlights from this year’s Game Awards, including the biggest trailers.

Release Reveals: Diablo IV and Star Wars: Jedi Survivor

We start with two important trailers that reveal the release date of two highly anticipated games. For one there would be Devil IV, which anticipates the battle between good and evil with an impressive cinematic trailer. It has also been revealed that the game will release on June 6, 2023.

In case of Star Wars: Jedi Survivor EA already caused a leak in advance, which showed the release date on the official Steam page. However, the joy that the game will be released on March 17, 2023 remains immense. But the stock has big shoes to fill, which it needs to know how to fill first.

Release-reveal: Baldurs Gate 3

Even the long-awaited RPG Baldurs Gate 3 got a release trailer at the Game Awards. However, there is no fixed date here, just a release month: August 2023. Then the game from Larian Studios will finally leave early access and will be available with the full story.

Game Reveal: Death Stranding 2

Japanese developer Hideo Kojima, who is a close friend of organizer Geoff Keighley, has also received a lot of attention this year. Therefore, the Game Awards 2022 was used as an opportunity to announce a new game: Death Stranding 2.

The sequel to the unusual open-world game of 2019 once again brings Norman Reedus to the screen as the protagonist. Also, a mysterious story awaits us again. A release date has not yet been announced and thus remains just as mysterious.

Game reveals: Hades 2, Remnant 2, Judas

One of the biggest surprises of the night was the announcement of Hades 2, the sequel to one of the most hyped roguelikes of recent years. Apparently, this time we will not play the son of Hades again, who must defeat him, but the wizard Melinoë. This leads to a campaign of revenge against Chronos. The game will be in early access soon.

Rest II is the sequel to Remnant: From the Ashes and once again pits us against deadly creatures and boss monsters. Dangerous World is reminiscent of Soulslikes, but in a slightly different genre with its focus on guns and co-op gameplay.

Game-Reveals: Banishers Ghosts of New Eden, Immortals of Aveum, Behemoth

Three more all-new game franchises were also announced at The Game Awards. Our favorite was here Banishers: Ghosts of the New Eden, which takes us to a world haunted by ghosts. In this action RPG, we not only have to banish supernatural beings, but also apparently find a way to bring our partner back to the world of the living. The release of the game is scheduled for the end of 2023.

to Immortals of Aveum it is, however, a new kind of first-person shooter with fantasy components. It aims to give us a cinematic single player experience in a whole new world. The game is a collaboration between Electronic Arts and Ascendant Studios and is expected to be released in 2023.

Behemoth is a newly announced game for PSVR2 that anticipates the fight against gigantic beings in an impressive trailer. Due to the lonely and snowy atmosphere, it is almost reminiscent of games like Skyrim or Shadow of the Colossus, but it should become a very unique experience in VR – and maybe even a reason to buy it?

New trailer: Suicide Squad, Cyberpunk 2077, Final Fantasy VXI, Lords of the Fallen

Some new trailers for previously announced titles were also shown at the Game Awards. The sign of life from Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, from which nothing new has been heard for a long time. However, there is no gameplay to be seen in the trailer, but the look of none other than Batman himself. The game is scheduled for release on May 26, 2023.

CD Projekt RED is also not lost, new material for the upcoming “Liberty City” DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 show. Surprisingly, it will not only feature Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silverhand, but also actor Idris Elba in a new role. The DLC will be released in 2023 for PC and next-gen.

For Final Fantasy XVI it also landed a spot at the Game Awards. In the new trailer we learn more about the story of the game and also see some gameplay scenes. These clearly focus on brilliant, magical attack and destruction. However, a release date for the game has not been revealed.

Fans of Soulslikes like Dark Souls or Elden Ring should keep an eye out The Lords of the Fallen to put. The game was announced some time ago, but only now has a first gameplay trailer arrived. It looks really cool and also shows a gloomy world that promises a lot of awesome monsters and secrets.

Other revelations: The Last of Us Part I, Horizon Forbidden West, Horizon Call of the Mountain

Not surprisingly, the PC port of The Last of Us, Part I announced with a short trailer. The most surprising thing is that it will be released on March 3, 2023. So PC gamers will also get their money.

For the game Horizon: Forbidden West has become a new DLC called “Fiery Shores” announced. This will be released on April 19, 2023 and will lead Aloy to the remains of Los Angeles to hunt down a new threat. If the DLC is as good as Frozen Wilds, then it will definitely be worth buying again.

There was also a short teaser for the upcoming VR game Horizon: The Call of the Mountain. You won’t believe how good this title is until you play it yourself. This will be possible as early as February 22, 2023, when Call of the Mountain officially releases on PSVR2.
