It’s coming to a finish! In the morning, the Czech biathletes headed for the final camp before the start of the season. The opening two of the World Cup in Kontiolahti, Finland, where the series is set to begin on November 28, will be tuned in form at the Swedish Idre Center.

Eleven men, including the support of Michal Krčmář and Ondřej Moravec, and seven biathletes, led by Markéta Davidová and Lucie Charvátová, flew to the training camp. Later, Jessica Jislová arrives, which is undergoing coronavirus quarantine. There are also several juniors in the team. “They should be added to the team for the World Cup if there are complications,” said men’s sports director and coach Ondřej Rybář on the union’s website.
The biathletes had to pass covid-19 tests before leaving in order to go to Sweden. “We have strict conditions. The athletes spent five days in quarantine, then underwent tests and remained alone until departure,” said Rybář. The implementation team drove north in a car, and a service truck set off on Monday.

Due to coronavirus, the Czechs changed the originally intended venue for the final preparation. They wanted to go to Sjusjön, but in Norway they would have to quarantine for ten days. “Which would significantly complicate the preparation,” said Rybář.
In Idra, Czech biathletes could take part in test races, which are to take place on November 14 and 15, and the Swedish national team is also planning to do so.
