The BI survey shows that the pressure for rising selling prices increased in the third quarter of 2020

KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. The results of the Business Activity Survey (SKDU) conducted by Bank Indonesia (BI) show that the pressure on the increase in selling prices in the third quarter of 2020 increased with WNB of 2.76%.

This result also increased from the previous quarter with WNB of -7.16% although it was still lower than 13.15% in the third quarter of 2019.

If broken down by economic sector, the largest increase in the average selling price occurred in several sectors, especially mining and quarrying (ISBT 2.17% and SBT Processing Industry sector 0.27%.

Meanwhile, several sectors with the highest average WNB selling price were in the trade, hotels and restaurants sector of 0.49% and the Agriculture, Plantation, Animal Husbandry, Forestry & Fisheries sectors of WNB 0.42%.

Thus, the BI projection in the fourth quarter of 2020 the pressure on the increase in selling prices is expected to slow down with a WNB of 0.36%.

“It is lower than 2.76% in the third quarter of 2020 and much lower than the fourth quarter of 2019 which was 14.88%,” explained BI in its official statement on Wednesday (14/10).

According to BI, this was due to, among other things, the effect of a decrease in the selling price of the mining and quarrying sector with WNB -4.71%.
