The educational platform EDUCA has announced the names of the winning teachers of the sixth edition of the EDUCA ABANCA Awardsas well as the scores obtained by the ten finalists in each of the six award categories and the name of the teacher who won the Honorable Mention for Teaching Career.
The Awards Committee has declared the winners of the EDUCA ABANCA Awards Contest Best Teacher in Spain 2022 to Ana Maria Gonzalez Herrerateacher at the CEIP Maestro Eduardo Lobillo de Rota (Andalusia) in the category of Early Childhood Education, in Primary Education to Luis Gutierrez Martin, teacher at the San José de León Marist College (Castilla y León); in Secondary Education to Susana Diaz Morcillo, professor at the IES José Manzano de Don Benito (Extremadura); in the Vocational Training category Alberto Castellano Barragan, from the IES Virgen de la Esperanza in La Línea de la Concepción (Andalusia); in the Non-Formal Education category to Ruben Martinez Sanchez, teacher at the NGO Mentor and Lideria International School centers in Puerto Lumbreras (Murcia); and in the University category, Manuel Cuadrado Garciaprofessor at the University of Valencia (Valencian Community).
The award for the Best Teacher in Spain will consist of an EDUCA commemorative statuette, an accrediting diploma and a prize of 1,000 euros in cash. The remaining nine finalists and the winner of the honorable mention will obtain a statuette and an accrediting diploma.
The EDUCA ABANCA Awards seek to improve the visibility of good teaching practice among society and give students a voice when it comes to recognizing those teachers who stand out for their good work. The purpose of the initiative, launched in 2017 by the educational platform EDUCA in collaboration with Obra Social ABANCA, is to extol the figure of the good teacher, their involvement in the teaching process and also the importance of the role played by these professionals in the society.
