According to the latest standards, that’s enough people with expertise to prove this thesis. But where is the best doner kebab in Germany? For convenience, I simply consulted the latest survey among Lieferando users and, as you know, there are quite a few! The shocking, almost scandalous result has a revolutionary character… These are the best doner kebabs in Germany, and the self-proclaimed doner kebab capital Berlin doesn’t even make it into the top 5.
City ranking: The 5 best doner kebabs in Germany
Admittedly, although I live in Berlin, I have only eaten one kebab here so far. And it was really good. Maybe even the best of my life. There was one in Prenzlauer Berg at Dönermeister, which I can recommend with a clear conscience. I can hardly provide any other comparisons, because kebab is rarely my first choice when I visit another city. Frankfurt was okay if I remember correctly. Marburg, my home, sometimes like this, sometimes like that. (But there is very good shawarma in the shawarma house. At Lecker Eck there is also the legend Yufka Chicken). Germany’s best kebab place 5: Munich
With a total of 4.14/5 points, beautiful Munich beats Berlin by just 0.01 points. With significantly fewer shops per 100,000 inhabitants, at 8.25 less than half as many, the probability of landing a hit is all the better. However, you also have to look longer for a shop there. So from 3 a.m. it becomes a staggering challenge to satisfy the irrepressible kebab craving. Costa 5.67 euros.
Germany’s best kebab place 4: Cologne and Frankfurt am Main
The honorable cities on the Rhine and Main share 4th place in this ranking with 4.16/5 onions each. Beautiful Frankfurt, home of the biggest and best soccer club in the world, offers its citizens 13.85 kebab shops per 100,000 Bembel, which is about the average for large German cities. Many corners have kebab shops around the clock, which I absolutely support. Cologne is the least interested in its good kebab, because there are only 7.68 shops for every 100,000 jerks… How can you do that to your people? Meeh Doner for Kölle! 5.39 Tacken in the Rhineland, 5.47 in the home of Eintracht.
Germany’s best kebab place 3: Bremen and Stuttgart
Bremen and Stuttgart shared the first medal in the race for doner kebab gold. The beautiful Hanseatic city in the north offers doner kebabs with an average of 4.22/5 garlic sauces. But here, too, you’re looking for a doner kebab for a long time with only 8.60 possibilities per 100,000 musicians. In Stuttgart, with identical ratings, this is marginally easier with 10.68 kebab shops per 100,000 Swabians. The opening is worthwhile in both cities if you plan to do something like that… Hanseatic residents pay a cheap 4.67 euros, in the Ländle you need an average of 5.67 euros.

The surprise second comes from Bavaria! In Nuremberg, the art of rotating spits is celebrated a little under the radar, at least for me. Outstanding 15.71 contact points offer the best goods with 4.25/5 pepperoni. That alone is worth a pilgrimage south. No matter where you go: the certainty of getting at least one decent doner kebab at any time reassures all Middle Franconians from childhood on… enviable! With 5.09 euros there is the best price/performance ratio.
Germany’s best kebab place 1: Dresden
Congratulations dear Dresden! 4.31/5 points, awarded with love and extra sharp, offer a total of 16.84 soul healers per 100,000 Elbe Florentines for people of all kinds. So far, most tourists have flocked to Saxony in the state capital because of the Elbe castles and the opera. That could soon change with the prospect of the best doner kebab in Germany. I’m already looking forward to hearing the scent of the finest garlic sauce and onions accompanying the Rosenkavalier in the Semperoper. With 4.96 euros you are there. Wonderful!
